At this crucial moment for the APC, some delegates are still unsure who to support.
That’s okay, but it’s also a red flag.
Because in times like this, sitting on the fence isn’t safe it’s risky.
Let’s break it down:
If you are UNDECIDED in your choice of flagbearer, think about these critical issues to help you decide.
U – Underestimate and Untested
Are we underestimating the strength of those currently in power?
APC delegates must not underestimate the incumbent’s desire and capacity to retain control at all costs.
In such a climate, can we really afford to rally behind someone who has never been tested in a real political battle or proven their ability to win?
N – No National Reach
Does your preferred candidate only appeal to their local area?
We need someone who can win hearts across the entire country not just their hometown or ethnic base.
D ‐ Do not place your trust in so-called ‘moral guarantors’
After the 2023 elections and the Tripartite process, it should be clear: post-election grievances overseen by external actors are largely symbolic.
Since the global order has shifted, power dynamics matter more than promises.
In Sierra Leone, the machinery of the state typically backs the party in power.
E – Experience Gap
Have they ever run anything a ministry, an agency, even a council?
We can’t afford on-the-job training.
We need leadership that’s ready from day one.
C – Character
When the pressure mounts, will they stand firm or fold?
Do they have the integrity to rebuild trust within the APC and across Sierra Leone?
I – Inspiration
Can they energize people especially youth, women and struggling citizens?
We need more than just a plan.
We need purpose and passion that can reignite hope.
D – Development Record
What have they actually done not in theory, but in real life?
Can they point to a project, reform or tangible achievement that they personally led?
E – Existential Threat
Have you considered the existential threat to the APC if you guys don’t win in 2028?
This isn’t the time to vote based on surname, gender, regional ties or personal loyalty.
2028 will demand a candidate who can win resoundingly, defend votes from tampering and unite both the APC and swing demographics including independent youths and women.
Failure in 2028 could mean another 5 to 10 years out of power a real existential threat to the APC.
D – Determination to Deliver
Will they only campaign well or can they also govern under pressure?
Sierra Leone is at a tipping point.
We need someone whose ambition is matched by the stamina and resolve to deliver on the economy, justice, national unity and opportunity for all.
Let’s be real:
The APC and Sierra Leone can’t move forward on sweet talk or blind loyalty.
We need leaders who are prepared, proven and people-focused.
Before you say you’re “undecided,” ask yourself:
Are you thinking for yourself or just following your group?
Are you chasing popularity, or backing someone credible?
Are you planning to win or just repeating old mistakes?
It’s easy to play it safe.
It’s harder to make bold choices before they become popular.
But if you want to defeat the current government, restore hope and fix our broken systems,
APC needs more than slogans.
You need strength, smart strategy and solid results.
So whatever you decide make sure it’s not based on the comfort of the past, but the challenge of the future.
Dear Delegates:
Your silence matters.
Your delay matters.
Your indecision matters.
This is the moment.
Choose wisely.
