2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Liberia Drawn in Group E

The Lone Star of Liberia will embark on a new AFCON qualifying journey this September in an attempt to return to the competition after 22 years.

The draw was held today, Thursday, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The draw saw Liberia paired in Group E alongside Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Togo.

The stats between the Lone Star and their opponents are unfavorable for the Lone Star as they prepare to defy the odds.

They have yet to secure a win against Algeria; they have lost three and drawn three out of the six meetings between both teams.

The Lone Star, under the guidance of former coach Ansu Keita, fell short 1-0 against Equatorial Guinea in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. However, they were awarded all three points by FIFA after it was established that Equatorial Guinea fielded an ineligible player.
