The All People’s Congress (APC) Internal Elections Management Committee (IEMC) has officially annulled the Ward Executive Elections that took place on February 21, 2026, across various districts in Sierra Leone. This decision, communicated in a letter dated February 26, 2026, to the APC National Secretary General, follows a thorough post-election review prompted by reports from district coordinators, field election officers, and other stakeholders.
The IEMC identified significant procedural, administrative, and operational irregularities in certain wards, which compromised the integrity of the electoral process. The Committee underscored that this cancellation is in line with its constitutional duty to ensure that all internal party elections occur in a free, fair, and transparent manner as specified in the APC Constitution (2022) and associated electoral regulations.
