Second Batch of Budapest-Bamako-Freetown Rally Arrives in Sierra Leone

March 5, 2026 The second wave of adventurers in the renowned Budapest-Bamako-Freetown Rally has officially entered Sierra Leone through the Gbalamuya border in Kambia. The convoy consists of 492 participants driving 203 vehicles, including motorbikes, and is set to spend the night at the picturesque Bureh Beach.

Upon arrival at the border, officials warmly welcomed the rally participants, marking a significant moment for Sierra Leone as it prepares to host the grand finale of this historic event.

After their overnight stay at Bureh Beach, the rally teams will continue to the finishing event at Gigibonta Car Park, Lumley Beach in Freetown on Friday. An exciting celebration awaits them at the finish line, with representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, the National Tourist Board, and various key ministries on hand to ensure a seamless arrival and a memorable Sierra Leonean hospitality experience.
