Sky Bank Denies Viral Video Claims, Calls Incident ‘Malicious Smear’

Freetown – Sky Bank (SL) Limited has strongly refuted allegations made in a viral social media video claiming that bank staff underpaid a Chinese customer. The bank labels the footage a “deliberate and malicious” attempt to damage its reputation.

According to a public notice, Sky Bank conducted a comprehensive internal review, which found no evidence to support the allegations. The investigation revealed that no customer, including the individual in the video, had lodged an official complaint regarding underpayment, and CCTV footage across all branches showed no record of the incident.

Sky Bank officials condemned the video as a targeted smear campaign aimed at tarnishing the institution’s reputation, emphasizing its commitment to integrity, professionalism, and transparency.

The bank reassures customers and the public of its dedication to maintaining high standards of banking service and operational integrity.
