OBITUARY ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Rachel Yatta M’carthy, which sad event took place in the early hours of 2nd April 2026 at the Connaught Hospital in Freetown. Aged 43.
Rachel was a devoted and committed parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish, Kenema and until her sudden demise, She was the Secretary General of the Parish Pastoral Council.
She was also an active member of St. Mary Magdalene Ladies Auxiliary of KSJI No. 572, serving as the Recording and Corresponding Secretary. In addition, she was an active member of the Catholic Young Adults Fellowship (CYAF), Catholic Women Association (CWA) and the Liturgy Committee (Lectors) of the Holy Trinity Parish.
She could be best remembered for her boldness as Mass commentator while she was also known for her humility, kindness, and deep faith. Her unwavering commitment to God’s work and her willingness to serve will forever remain an inspiration to the parish.
Her passing is a great loss to her family, the Knights and Ladies, the CYAF, the CWA and the entire parish community.
We thank God for the gift of her life and pray that the Lord, in His infinite mercy, grants her eternal rest.
