Police in Kenema District have arrested a man accused of trying to sell his younger brother, following a tip-off that led to his interception at a major checkpoint.
The suspect allegedly transported his brother, identified only as Gbesseh, from Nyandiama to Njama Village. According to a video circulating online and reviewed by this paper, he left Gbesseh at Yankana while he went ahead to Njama to find a buyer. The younger brother was reportedly unaware of the plan.
Security personnel at the Njama Checkpoint — a joint security post in the district — detained the suspect during the alleged transaction. Sources say a commercial motorbike rider known locally as “D Game” alerted authorities, prompting the swift arrest.
Police have not released the suspect’s name or confirmed charges. Details remain limited, and the incident is believed to have occurred in 2024.
Investigations are ongoing. Authorities had not issued an official statement at press time.
