The National Commission for Social Action has officially handed over four rehabilitated community facilities in Taiama Town, Kori Chiefdom, reaffirming government’s commitment to improving basic services at the grassroots level.
The projects were commissioned on Friday, 10th July 2026. They include the Native Administration Court Barray, Taiama Town Centre Market, MDEC Primary School, and a community tap water system. Work on the water project started in late 2025 and was completed in June 2026.
The ceremony attracted a large turnout of residents and dignitaries, including Paramount Chief PC Thomas B. Gappi IV, Chiefdom Speaker Rev. Sorie B. Kamanda, MP for Constituency Cluster 098 Hon. Sylvester Boima, Ward 346 Councillor Ernest Ngenda Sama, and senior NaCSA officials led by Commissioner Ambassador Ernest Bamba Ndomahina and the Deputy Commissioner.
In his address, Commissioner Ndomahina emphasized peace, unity and community ownership as key to sustaining development gains.
“I urge you to protect and maintain these facilities so they can serve present and future generations,” he told residents.
He assured the gathering that the SLPP administration remains committed to implementing more development initiatives in Kori Chiefdom and across Moyamba District.
Community leaders and residents welcomed the projects, describing them as timely interventions that will improve access to justice, enhance education, provide clean drinking water, and boost economic activity through a modernized market.
The event concluded with appreciation from local authorities and residents to the Government of Sierra Leone and NaCSA for the continued investment in Taiama and surrounding communities.
