The Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces has deployed 45 instructors, including female personnel, to Ghana for a seven-week advanced professional training course.
The group departed Sierra Leone on Friday, July 17, 2026.
According to Brigadier General Kwame Francis Kanu, Assistant Chief of Defence Staff for Training, Doctrine and Education, the program is intended to enhance the instructional skills and professional standards of RSLAF trainers. He said the training content is aligned with international military benchmarks and the operational requirements of the Sierra Leone military.
The mission is part of a broader capacity-building initiative championed by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Amara Idara Bangura.
The deployment was officially announced on Tuesday by Lieutenant Colonel Yayah Brima, Director of Defence Public Relations and Information.
