OBITUARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Embassy of Sierra Leone, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that the Embassy of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announces the passing of Mr. Mohamed Sandy Demby, a long-serving and dedicated member of staff of the Mission.
Mr. Demby passed away in the early hours of Thursday, 13 August 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Until his death, Mr. Sandy Demby served as the Chief Security Officer to the Ambassador of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He served the Embassy with commitment and distinction for more than two decades, and was widely respected for his loyalty, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and five children.
His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Barrie*, Deputy Ambassador Abdul Aziz Turay, the Head of Chancery, Alhaji Ahmed Tejan Kabba, and the entire staff of the Embassy join the Embassy family in extending sincere condolences to the bereaved family.
In consultation with the family, Janaza prayers will be observed after Juma prayers on Friday, 14 August 2026 at King Khalid Mosque, Umm Al-Hammam, Riyadh, followed by burial at Riyadh Northern Cemetery.
May the Almighty Allah grant his soul eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
