FREETOWN — The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has engaged residents of Morthaim in a community meeting aimed at strengthening police-public cooperation to maintain peace and security.
The engagement was led by Local Unit Commander, Superintendent Solomon Koroma, in collaboration with the Chairman of the Local Policing Partnership Board (LPPB), Patrick Samuel Lebbie.
The meeting brought together Community Safety Volunteers (CSVs), traditional leaders and youths to discuss pressing security concerns affecting the community.
Discussions centered on crime prevention, protection of lives and property, and improving information sharing between residents and the police.
Participants were urged to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious activities, and support ongoing policing initiatives to promote peaceful coexistence.
Superintendent Koroma emphasised that effective policing requires active community participation, noting that strong collaboration is essential for maintaining law and order.
Mr. Lebbie highlighted the role of the LPPB in bridging the gap between the police and communities, calling for sustained collaboration to address local security challenges.
Residents of Morthaim welcomed the engagement and reaffirmed their commitment to working with the SLP to enhance safety, peace and development in the area.
