Freetown Terminal has made a significant investment in education by donating essential school materials to a local seaside community, a gesture valued in the thousands of Leones. This initiative highlights the company’s commitment to fostering education and empowering young learners.

The donation package included vital supplies such as exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, and school bags, equipping children with the tools they need to thrive academically. This effort is part of Freetown Terminal’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy aimed at enhancing the quality of life in the regions it serves.

During the handover ceremony, Captain Fabjanko Kokan, Regional Managing Director of Freetown Terminal, remarked, “Education is a key driver of sustainable development, and we are committed to supporting young minds in their pursuit of knowledge. We are proud to play a role in shaping the future of these children by equipping them with the resources they need to succeed.”

This commitment aligns with Freetown Terminal’s mission to contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which it operates. The company has pledged to continue its support for education and other community-based programs, reinforcing its vision of building stronger, more resilient communities through strategic investments in youth development.

Lamin Koroma, Chairman of the Seaside Community, expressed gratitude for Freetown Terminal’s ongoing support, noting that the contributions have been beneficial not only for school children but also for university students. Maroun Abi Aad, General Manager of AGL, emphasized the importance of investing in education as a long-term strategy that requires greater attention. He called on other institutions to join in this vital effort.

One of the beneficiaries, Peter Bayuku Konteh from Yakala in Koinadugu District, praised the support, stating that it will help alleviate the financial burden on parents and enable teachers to perform their duties effectively without disruption.
