The Cause Canada Sierra Leone Partnership has launched an innovative integrated school feeding program titled “Wi Eat watin wi dae plant.” The initiative was inaugurated on November 28, 2024, at the Koinadugu District Education Office.
This program aims to provide nutritious meals to students in six pilot schools within the Koinadugu and Falaba districts. Country Operations Officer Abdulai Suma emphasized that the initiative, supported by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), is designed to run for three years.
The “Wi Eat watin wi dae plant” program takes a comprehensive approach to tackling food security and nutrition among school-aged children. By offering balanced meals, the program not only supports the physical health of students but also aims to enhance their academic performance.
