By Saidu Jalloh, Reporter D.S

The National Youth Service (NYS) Batch 7 has officially commenced, welcoming 400 graduates who will embark on a transformative 21-day training program, setting the stage for a year-long government placement.

This initiative is a crucial part of Pillars 3 and 4 of President Bio’s Big Five Game Changers, focusing on Human Capital Development through the Youth Employment Scheme (YES!). The NYS aims to empower young Sierra Leonean graduates aged 18 to 35 by equipping them with essential skills for a successful transition into the competitive job market. The program also emphasizes personal skills development, contributing to both individual growth and national development.

Since its launch in 2018, the National Youth Service has made significant progress in recruiting, training, and providing internships for young graduates. With over 1,000 success stories of full-time employment in both the public and private sectors, the NYS has established itself as a vital tool for promoting youth employment in Sierra Leone.
