Country Reports 1,378 Confirmed Mpox Cases Amid Ongoing Public Health Concerns

As of Sunday, May 4, 2025, Sierra Leone has recorded a total of 1,378 cumulative confirmed cases of Mpox. The National Public Health Agency (NPHA) reports that there are currently 1,074 active cases in the country.

In the past 24 hours, 119 new cases were confirmed, while no recoveries were reported. The total number of individuals who have recovered from the virus stands at 294, and the death toll remains at 10.

Mpox cases have been reported across various regions, with the Western Urban area experiencing the highest number of cases at 970, followed by Western Rural with 273 cases and Bombali with 47. The gender breakdown of confirmed cases shows 653 females and 725 males.
