In the early hours of Monday, May 5, 2025, a vehicle reportedly lost its brakes and plunged uncontrollably into the sea at the government ferry terminal in Freetown.
Witnesses captured the incident on video, showcasing the swift response of local youths who acted decisively to manage the situation. Demonstrating commendable initiative, they brought a boat to assist in offloading valuable items from the submerged vehicle, aiming to lighten its weight for easier recovery.
