Local Man Arrested for Allegedly Butchering Dog for Sale

Residents of a community on the outskirts of eastern Sierra Leone expressed shock after a man was apprehended for allegedly butchering a dog for commercial sale. The disturbing discovery was made following reports of suspicious activities and foul odors emanating from the suspect’s residence, according to Mountain Online Television.

Local authorities received multiple complaints from concerned community members who noted unusual nighttime movements and strange smells in the area. Upon investigation, police found the suspect actively preparing dog meat, which appeared to be intended for unsuspecting consumers.

“We noticed a foul smell and unusual movements at night,” said a resident who wished to remain anonymous. “That’s when we decided to alert the authorities. We never imagined someone would be selling dog meat in our community.”

Initial police reports suggest that the suspect had been operating this illegal meat business in secrecy for several weeks, disguising the dog meat as regular livestock products. Eyewitnesses reported that the man employed discreet methods to lure, kill, and butcher the animals without drawing public suspicion.

The suspect is currently in custody and is assisting police with their investigations. Authorities are also working to determine whether he acted alone or is part of a larger network involved in illegal meat distribution across the region.
