Driver Charged with Fraudulent Conversion of LE 411,000 in Freetown

Edward Abdul Lansana, a driver, appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown, facing charges of fraudulent conversion under Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the charge sheet, Lansana allegedly converted various properties entrusted to him by Edward Blackie for sale between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2024, in Soja Town, Grafton. The items in question include a gold-colored Toyota Highlander, a white Toyota Camry, a standing air conditioner, a yellow power saw, and assorted other items.

Upon being presented with the charges, Lansana did not enter a plea. Magistrate Kekura denied bail and ordered Lansana to be remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown. The case is scheduled to resume on May 15, 2025, for further proceedings.
