Freetown, May 22, 2025 — The National Revenue Authority (NRA) convened a meeting with the Interface Integrated Trade Services (ITS) today to advance one of its 21 Revenue Improvement measures: the integration of the ITS System with the Asycuda World System.

The ITS, a service provider contracted by the government, aims to collaborate with the NRA to enhance customs clearance efficiency and integrity.

Commissioner-General Jeneba J. Bangura emphasized the importance of aligning operational processes between the NRA and the private sector. “It is crucial that we focus on timely clearance, reducing administrative bottlenecks, and reinforcing institutional cooperation,” she stated.

Key discussion points included the issuance and management of Classification Valuation Certificates (CVCs), addressing forgeries and undervaluation, and strategies to promote greater transparency, consistency, and accountability.

Albert Gulama, Executive Director of ITS, affirmed the commitment to improving trade facilitation mechanisms in support of national revenue objectives, stating, “We will strive to enhance our coordination.”

The NRA reiterated its dedication to strengthening revenue collection through ongoing engagement with key stakeholders.
