The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education has announced new guidelines for admission into Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools. This move aims to ensure a fair and structured admission process, following the successful National Primary School Examination (NPSE) and Basic Certificate Examination (BECE).
Key features of the new guidelines include the formation of an eight-member committee to conduct interviews, comprising one member from the Ministry and seven appointees from the school. Principals must submit lists of repeaters and interview dates to the Basic Education Secretariat before commencement.
Additionally, principals must present the number of available classrooms for the new intake and comply with approved school colors and charges from the Ministry. The new guidelines have been welcomed by parents and school administrators, who praise the efforts to ensure a seamless admission process.
The move aims to bring sanity to the admission process, making it more organized and stress-free for pupils, parents, and school administrators. With these guidelines in place, the Ministry is setting the stage for a successful transition into the new academic year.
