The Forum Against Harmful Practices (FAHP) hosted a pivotal workshop at the Buxton Church Hall on Charles Street in Freetown, aimed at harnessing social media to amplify calls for the cessation of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Sierra Leone.
Entitled “Harnessing Social Networks to Elevate Voices of Survivors and Advocates in the Fight Against FGM,” the event attracted Tribal Heads from the Western Area, educators, bloggers, and other key stakeholders. Participants engaged in discussions on leveraging digital platforms to highlight survivor narratives and advocate for change.
The workshop underscored the necessity of collaboration among community leaders, educators, and social media influencers in fostering public discourse on FGM.
