The Directorate of Hospital and Ambulance Services has officially launched the country’s inaugural National Hospital Technical Working Group (TWG), marking a significant advancement in hospital governance and healthcare service delivery.

This newly formed TWG unites senior officials from the Ministry of Health, medical superintendents, hospital administrators, and representatives from professional and development partner organizations. Its primary objective is to provide strategic guidance, develop national standards, and coordinate essential reforms in hospitals to improve efficiency, quality, and access to healthcare services.

According to the Ministry of Health, this initiative aligns with Minister Dr. Austin Demby’s vision of achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and emphasizes placing patients at the core of healthcare delivery.
