New Evidence Surface in Police Officer Murder Case

Two witnesses, Foday Alusine and Kadiatu Kamara, testified before Magistrate Santigie Bangura at Court No. 2, Pademba Road, on Monday, September 2, 2024, in the matter of the deceased Police Officer Fasineh Bangura.

The first witness, Foday Alusine, stated that he knew the accused, Abu Bakarr Yealiah, and the deceased, Fasineh Bangura. He recounted the events of July 13, 2022, when he heard a gunshot and was attacked by army personnel and a police officer. He claimed that the accused pointed a rifle at him and later shot the deceased in cold blood.

During cross-examination, Chernor Kamara questioned the witness about the events leading up to the incident, but the witness denied knowledge of any prior issues between the accused and the deceased.

The second witness, Kadiatu Kamara, testified that she was a farmer and a neighbor of the deceased. She described being held in custody, beaten, and dragged out of her home on July 13, 2024. She stated that the accused was present and shot the deceased, who was then covered with a sac and transferred to another vehicle. The accused remains in custody, and the matter was adjourned to September 10, 2024.
