Government Sign Landmark Aviation Agreement With ICAO

Sierra Leone’s aviation industry has taken a significant leap forward with the signing of a Management Service Agreement (MSA) with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on Friday, 30th August. The agreement aims to enhance aviation operations and safety standards in Sierra Leone.

The MSA was signed by SLCAA Director General Musayeroh Barrie, who hailed the partnership as a major milestone for the country’s aviation sector. The agreement outlines several strategic initiatives, including the establishment of an ICAO TRAINAIR Plus Training Institution in Sierra Leone.

This institution will provide training and expertise to SLCAA staff, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills required for maintaining high safety standards. Additionally, the agreement includes the development of a comprehensive Civil Aviation Master Plan (CAMP) and other vital frameworks aimed at enhancing the sector’s efficiency and security.

The partnership is expected to significantly enhance Sierra Leone’s aviation capabilities, aligning the country with global standards and paving the way for sustained industry development. With this agreement, Sierra Leone is poised to take its aviation sector to new heights, providing improved services and safety for passengers and operators alike.
