Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, Honourable Justice Komba Kamanda, has taken decisive action to expedite the handling of drug-related cases by assigning seven judges and four magistrates in the Western Area, along with all judges and magistrates in the provinces, to focus on drug and drug-related offenses.

This directive, announced in a public notice by the Deputy Master and Registrar of the High Court, Mrs. Hulaimatu F. Christian-Moses, is part of the Judiciary’s ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency and ensuring timely justice delivery.

To further facilitate this initiative, the Chief Justice has extended court sittings to include Saturdays, allowing for quicker adjudication of drug-related cases and a reduction in the backlog of pending matters.

The Judiciary of Sierra Leone has reiterated its commitment to providing swift, fair, and transparent justice through these reforms, which are designed to improve service delivery across the nation.
