During the ongoing World Petroleum Council (WPC) Congress, I had the privilege of meeting with Mr. Pedro Miras, President of WPC Energy, to discuss a range of pressing issues affecting the global oil and gas sector.

WPC Energy, representing 60 member countries, accounts for over 96% of the world’s petroleum production and consumption. Since its establishment in 1933, WPC Energy has been a leading authority in the industry.

In our discussion, we explored how current global dynamics and trends impact individual domestic markets. Mr. Miras emphasized the importance of adopting policies that address these new realities while upholding core values of equity, partnership, and collaboration.

He assured that his focus remains on fostering meaningful initiatives to support the sustained growth of the oil and gas industry worldwide. WPC Energy will continue to address critical industry challenges and seek emerging solutions, providing member countries with opportunities for business development.

The conference in Kuwait City has offered a unique platform for engaging with global leaders in the oil and gas industry, focusing on partnerships across upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.
