Freetown – Minkailu Koroma, a prominent member of the All People’s Congress (APC) Communications Team, has issued a stark warning that Sierra Leone may descend into instability if the upcoming 2028 general elections are manipulated.
His comments were prompted by recent remarks from the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) National Chairman, Jimmy Batilo Songa, highlighting the escalating political tensions in the country.
Koroma stressed the necessity of conducting transparent, credible, and peaceful elections as the bedrock of democracy. He asserted, “If they attempt to rig the elections, the APC will not accept the result as long as it is not credible. We will make the country ungovernable.”
His statements reflect mounting public concern regarding the integrity of Sierra Leone’s electoral process as the nation approaches the next general polls. Observers are urging both the ruling SLPP and the opposition APC to engage in constructive dialogue and commit to democratic principles to ensure peace and stability during this critical period.
