By: Edrie Caleb John

Sheku Kamara, a suspect accused of impersonating an Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) staff, made his second appearance before Principal Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1.

Kamara faces four counts: Personation, Possession of a Forged EDSA Identity Card, Uttering a Forged Document, and Larceny, all contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

According to the charge sheet, Kamara allegedly impersonated an EDSA meter reader without lawful authority on August 13, 2024, at Kissy Brook, Freetown. He was also found in possession of a forged EDSA identity card with reference number NP. 3738.

Additionally, Kamara is accused of uttering a forged EDSA identity card and stealing an EDSA pre-paid meter valued at Le3, 000, property of Abdul Munu.

Prosecutor Police Constable 17649 Kargbo informed the court that the second witness was absent, but the first witness had testified. Defense Counsel Charlie Israel Williams applied for bail, which Prosecutor Kargbo objected to, stating that he would file an affidavit opposing bail on the next adjourned date.

The matter was adjourned to Monday, September 9, 2024, for continuation.
