The Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL) has inaugurated its new Psychosocial Counselling and Resource Centre in Magburaka, marking a significant milestone in its mission to provide essential psychosocial support and community counselling services nationwide. The centre was dedicated during a ceremony themed “Restoring Hope, Strengthening Lives.”
This initiative was made possible through the generous support of Bread for the World, along with contributions from various CCSL member churches. The dedication ceremony drew a diverse audience, including government officials, representatives from Bread for the World, CCSL leadership, church coordinators, survivors, beneficiaries, and local community members.
The event underscored the vital role of faith-based organizations in addressing the emotional and social challenges faced by individuals and communities in Sierra Leone. The newly established centre is designed to be a safe haven for healing, rehabilitation, and empowerment, providing resources aimed at enhancing resilience and restoring hope for those impacted by trauma and hardship.
