Koidu City, Sierra Leone. The Tankoro Police Division has apprehended the CEO of Black Gate, identified as a prominent dealer in Kush, following a targeted operation in Koidu City.

Authorities have voiced concerns over the increasing presence of Kush in the community and its correlation with rising crime rates, prompting residents to demand more decisive action from law enforcement.

The arrest, led by Operations Commander Mr. Sesay and supported by OSD officers, followed weeks of surveillance aimed at dismantling local drug networks. Community members have expressed relief at this development, viewing it as a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to address the drug trade negatively impacting local youth.

This operation is part of the broader “End Kush” campaign initiated by the Central Youth Organization, aimed at curbing drug abuse throughout Kono District. Just last month, in a separate raid in Koidu Central, police arrested a man in possession of multiple wraps of suspected Kush, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in combating drug-related issues.
