First Ladies Unite for Women’s Education

A historic conference on women’s education brought together First Ladies from African nations in Beijing China September 4, 2024. The event, held at the State Guest House, Fanghua Yuan, aimed to promote women’s education and empowerment.

Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, joined her counterparts from various African countries for the momentous occasion. The conference featured discussions, idea-sharing, and cultural exchanges among the First Ladies. A gala performance showcasing local artists and talented children added a touch of warmth and unity to the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio emphasized the importance of women’s education in achieving societal transformation. “We are not just ceremonial figures, but advocates for change,” she said. “We are committed to championing initiatives that prioritize women’s education and empowerment.”

The conference reinforced the First Ladies’ resolve to work together to ensure future generations of women have access to quality education and tools for empowerment, fostering gender equality.
