A magistrate in Freetown has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Tamba Mani, a 30-year-old Branch Service Manager at Sky Bank’s Makeni Branch, who failed to appear in court to answer serious charges of financial crime.

Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 issued the warrant on January 30, 2026. Mani faces four criminal counts: conspiracy to defraud, larceny by servant, fraudulent embezzlement, and money laundering. These charges stem from an alleged incident on August 14, 2025, at the Makeni Branch located in Bombali Shebora Chiefdom.

The prosecution, led by Chief Superintendent of Police Tommy B. Ziza Esq., claims that Mani conspired with unidentified individuals to defraud the bank, resulting in the theft of Two Million, Three Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand Leones (Le 2,385,000) from Sky Bank Sierra Leone Limited.

When the case was called, Mani was absent. Following a request from the prosecution, Magistrate Jah granted the application for a warrant, which is now active against both the accused and his sureties. The proceedings have been adjourned pending Mani’s arrest.
