On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, a bike rider, Bobson Abu, testified in the ongoing murder trial of Ibrahim Samura, who is accused of killing Alfred Jusu. Samura appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1, facing a single count charge of Murder.
Prosecution witness Abu revealed that on May 25, 2024, he, the deceased, and friends visited Gloucester village Bar and Night Club. At 3:00 a.m., Abu left the deceased outside and went inside. Upon returning, the deceased was gone, and Abu assumed he had gone home. The next morning, Abu heard rumors of a thief being beaten to death at Gloucester bridge, but didn’t pay attention until he saw a picture of the deceased on a friend’s phone. Abu testified that he accompanied the deceased’s uncle, Timothy, to the scene and later to the police station, where a statement was obtained from him. Magistrate Kekura denied bail and remanded Samura to the Male Correctional Center, adjourning the case to September 18, 2024.
