The Minister of Agriculture Dr. J. Alexander Nuetah has started the second leg of his nationwide tour, encouraging smallholder farmers to work harder to expand production.
The second leg of the tour comes barely a few days after the launch of the Liberia Feed Yourself Agenda, also known as the National Agricultural Development Plan (NADP), a flagship program of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
The five-day tour kicked off in Gbarpolu county early this week and is expected to continue to Bomi and Grand Cape Mount counties.
The primary goal of the tour is to mobilize the farmers for the production and cultivation of key crops, like rice, cassava, maize and at the same time assuring the farmers of the Liberian government’s continuous commitment.
