Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, a flagbearer aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC), has criticized President Julius Maada Bio’s assertion that he has fulfilled all the commitments outlined in his manifesto.
During an online TV discussion, Aki-Sawyerr referred to a recent speech by President Bio at the opening of Parliament, where he claimed to have completed all his promises and was now offering “bonuses” to the public.
Aki-Sawyerr expressed concern over this statement, stating, “We all have the manifesto and all the promises. We all know.” She highlighted one key promise regarding the transfer of responsibilities to local councils, which she argues has not been realized. “There’s no way President Bio has fulfilled 50% of his promises,” she asserted. “For him to tell the country that he has done them all and is only giving bonuses sadly reflects a lack of sincerity.”
These comments were made as Aki-Sawyerr discussed her vision and aspirations for becoming the next APC flagbearer.
