The All People’s Congress (APC) is at risk of suspension from electoral activities unless it pays an outstanding fine of NLe350,000 by today, February 11, 2026. The warning comes from the Political Parties Regulatory Commission (PPRC), which has stated that the APC failed to settle the fine despite repeated notifications.

PPRC Chairman Emmanuel Koivaya Amara disclosed that the fine was imposed due to violations of the Political Parties Act, 2022, following a recent meeting in Freetown. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that failure to pay by 8:30 a.m. on the deadline will result in the party being barred from official activities, including meetings and gatherings.

Amara also pointed out that the APC has not submitted any requests for an extension or a court order contesting the PPRC’s decision. He further highlighted Section 39 of the PPRC Act, which mandates that political parties are accountable for statements made by their members, regardless of where those statements originate.

He stated, “No member, supporter, operative, or candidate of a political party shall make statements that violate the law, and the party is responsible for ensuring compliance.”
