Freetown – December 2, 2025 – The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has confirmed that it received a payment of one hundred and twenty thousand Leones (NLe 120,000) from the All People’s Congress (APC) leadership, following a fine imposed for violating the Political Parties Act (No. 25) of 2022.
The fine was originally issued on November 17, 2025, due to a breach by Hon. Lahai Marrah, the Falaba District Chairman of the APC, which took place on November 15. This breach prompted the PPRC to take necessary action.
In its announcement, the PPRC expressed appreciation for the APC’s swift compliance with the imposed fine, reiterating its commitment to ensuring that political parties operate within legal frameworks. The Commission emphasized the importance of adhering to legal standards and encouraged all APC members and supporters to comply with regulations in the future.
Furthermore, the PPRC urged the APC to implement additional measures to ensure ongoing adherence to political regulations and to foster a law-abiding approach in all its activities.
The PPRC, headquartered in Freetown, plays a vital role in regulating political parties and overseeing the proper conduct of elections and party operations throughout Sierra Leone.
