The All Peoples Congress (APC) has scheduled urgent strategic meetings this week with its current and incoming Members of Parliament, along with elected local council officials, to discuss the party’s withdrawal from governance participation.
In a public notice dated March 8, 2026, the APC National Secretariat outlined that these meetings are part of ongoing internal dialogues aimed at fortifying the party’s resolve and establishing a unified strategic stance.
The first gathering will convene all sitting APC MPs and those awaiting confirmation—referring to candidates whose names are on the list submitted to the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL). This session is set for Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the APC National Secretariat, located at 11A Railway Line, Brookfields, Freetown.
A subsequent meeting for elected APC local council officials, including those listed with the ECSL, will occur on Thursday, March 12, 2026, also at 11:00 a.m.
The APC leadership emphasized that these discussions are crucial due to the ongoing withdrawal of APC representatives from governance activities, reflecting the party’s contemplation of its role within state institutions.
“The Leadership views this moment as pivotal in our efforts to uphold democratic accountability, honor the people’s will, and respond decisively to the current political climate in Sierra Leone,” stated the notice issued by the National Secretary General of the APC.
All officials involved are urged to attend punctually, as the outcomes of these discussions may significantly influence the party’s future direction.
