In a shocking turn of events, police from the Waterloo Division have apprehended a man for allegedly trying to sell his nephew to ritualists for 150 million old Leones (NLe 150,000).
The boy, whose identity remains undisclosed for safety reasons, is now under police protection. Authorities arrested the uncle, a resident of Pujehun District, with the help of the intended buyer, who cooperated with the police.
According to reports, the buyer contacted authorities after being approached by the suspect. The uncle is currently being held at the Waterloo Police Division as police continue their investigation.
In a separate incident, a father in Bo City was caught on camera attempting to sell his son for the same amount. A disturbing video shared by Gleaner Newspaper shows the father negotiating the transaction without his wife’s knowledge, claiming to represent higher-ups who supplied the funds.
Investigations are ongoing, with police working to bring all parties involved to justice.
