A 23-year-old bike rider, Ibrahim Samura, appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a charge of murder.
The accused is alleged to have murdered Alfred Jusu on May 25, 2024, at Gloucester Village in Freetown. The charge was read and explained to the accused, but no plea was taken.
The first witness, Timothy Saio, a carpenter and cousin of the deceased, testified that he received information about the incident and went to the scene. He identified the deceased at the hospital and made a statement at the Akon Police Station.
The prosecutor sought an adjournment to confer with his witnesses due to difficulties in aligning the testimonies of witnesses. Magistrate Kekura refused bail and remanded the accused at the Male Correctional Center in Freetown.
The matter was adjourned to September 6, 2024.
