By: Edrie Caleb John

A significant development unfolded in the bomb-making trial yesterday as Alhaji Kabba, the Operation Manager of Global Aviation, took the stand as the third prosecution witness.

Led by State Counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay Esq, Kabba testified before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No. 2 on Pademba Road, Freetown. He described his role at Global Aviation, which involves importing, exporting, and transiting goods.

Kabba revealed that he has worked for the company for 12-13 years under Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara. He identified Hussein Antar, the first accused, and Jamal Antar, the second accused, as individuals involved in the container delivery.

According to Kabba, he received delivery orders from Kamara on October 1, 2023, and July 29, 2024. He subsequently processed the documents and cleared the goods.

The witness recounted his interactions with the accused individuals, including delivering containers to Waterloo Bar Drive, 3 Mile, on November 11, 2023.

During cross-examination, Defense Counsel ISY Kamara Esq presented medical papers to request bail for the accused. However, State Counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay Esq opposed the application, citing 32 charges and public interest.

Magistrate Bangura denied bail, ordering the accused to receive medical treatment at the Correction Service. The trial was adjourned until September 25, 2024.

The accused, Hussein Antar, Jamal Antar, and Suliaman Barrie, remain remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
