Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, Honourable Komba Kamanda, has participated in the 20th Triennial Conference of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges’ Association (CMJA) in The Gambia, joining 54 judicial leaders from across the Commonwealth.

The conference, which runs from September 21 to 26, 2025, is centered on the theme “Combating Corruption and Promoting Accountability in the Judicial Sector.” It serves as a platform for sharing best practices and strategies aimed at enhancing judicial independence and integrity.

Chief Justice Kamanda emphasized that the insights gained from the conference would bolster reforms and capacity-building efforts within Sierra Leone’s judiciary, asserting the importance of ensuring that “justice is not only done, but seen to be done.”
