Corruption Watch Sierra Leone has announced a partnership with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to oversee the integrity of upcoming public examinations, including the National Primary School Examination (NPSE), Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
To ensure a fair and transparent examination process, the organization will deploy District Coordinators across eleven districts in Sierra Leone. These Coordinators are tasked with monitoring activities throughout the examination period. “In alignment with our partnership with the ACC, we are committed to ensuring integrity and transparency in the examination process,” stated a representative from Corruption Watch Sierra Leone.
The organization has warned that any individual found in possession of mobile phones or unauthorized materials within examination halls will have those items confiscated and reported to the ACC. Corruption Watch has also urged school authorities, invigilators, and police officers at examination centers to collaborate closely with their Coordinators to facilitate a smooth examination process.
Additionally, they encouraged all stakeholders—candidates and parents alike—to support the fight against examination malpractice. As part of their campaign, Corruption Watch aims to promote honesty and integrity as foundational elements of the country’s educational system. “Let us promote honesty and integrity as pillars of our educational system,” they emphasized.
In conclusion, Corruption Watch Sierra Leone extended best wishes for success to all candidates participating in the exams, advising everyone to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and committed to transparency and accountability throughout the examination period.
