Madam Salima Monorma Bah, the Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, recently joined Orange SL’s Chief Executive Officer, Sekou Amadou Bah, and the Director General of the National Communications Authority (NaTCA), Amara Brewah, to inspect the construction of Orange Sierra Leone’s new Data Center in Bo City.

The Bo Data Center, a full-scale replica of the existing facility in Freetown, is designed to serve as a disaster recovery site, ensuring continuity of digital services during emergency outages or natural disasters. This initiative is expected to enhance service stability and effectively manage network traffic across the country.

This project is part of broader efforts to extend digital infrastructure to the Southern and Eastern regions, including Bo, Kenema, Kono, and Makeni, with a focus on improving internet access and connectivity in areas with limited coverage.

With an investment exceeding €23 million, the Bo Data Center represents one of Orange SL’s major infrastructure projects outside the capital. The development is a collaborative effort between the government and the private sector. Construction is currently underway, with completion anticipated in the coming months.
