Entrepreneur Gento Kamara Denies Links to Dutch Drug Kingpin

By Joseph Momoh, Reporter D.S

Mohamed Gento Kamara, a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist, has vehemently denied allegations connecting him to convicted Dutch cocaine kingpin Jos Leijdekkers, also known as ‘Bolle Jos.’

The controversy arose following recent claims in Sierra Leone suggesting that Leijdekkers financed Kamara’s seaport project. These allegations were fueled by a misleading image circulating on social media, which featured the caption “Breaking News” alongside visuals of busy ports and unrelated figures, implying dubious financial connections.

In a public statement, Kamara expressed his outrage over the unfounded accusations, stating, “Anyone trying to link me to such baseless claims or tarnish my reputation will face drastic measures.” He condemned the ongoing targeting of innocent Sierra Leoneans and called for an end to such defamatory tactics.

“The price of success is hard work and dedication,” he emphasized, reaffirming his commitment to integrity and community service.

Kamara, founder and owner of the Gento Group of Companies—a successful road construction firm with assets valued in the millions—is well-respected in Sierra Leone. He has empowered over 3,000 young people and women through various entrepreneurial initiatives and supports numerous charities and non-governmental organizations aimed at uplifting his community.

Born and raised in Freetown, Kamara has a deep connection to his homeland. After an appeal from former President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, he returned to Sierra Leone to help revive its economy and mentor youth who had lost hope.

In conclusion, Kamara delivered a powerful message: “The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.”
