Five Suspects Charged in Shocking Murder of Lebanese Businessman in Kenema

The investigation into the brutal murder of Lebanese shop owner Salim Alie Dayeck has expanded, with two additional suspects, Mohamed Kallon (known as Gun Play) and Issa Lahai, facing charges. They join three previously arrested individuals in connection with the case. All five suspects are currently in remand, awaiting their appearance before the High Court in Kenema.

Kallon, 20, and Lahai, 26, are charged with conspiracy to commit murder. During their initial appearance before Magistrate Shaka Papa Kamara, both suspect entered a plea, and the case has been referred to the High Court.

Dayeck’s body was discovered in his bathroom following a violent robbery on September 11, 2024. Detectives reported that the businessman was murdered in his bedroom before his body was moved to the restroom above his shop. One suspect was apprehended at the crime scene, while two others were arrested shortly after. The fourth suspect allegedly sold a stolen cassava grinding machine to Lahai, who is also charged with receiving stolen property.
