In a significant diplomatic engagement, Sierra Leone’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Bah, met with his Gambian counterpart, Dawda Jallow, on February 13, 2025, to bolster bilateral cooperation and improve key governance sectors in both nations.
The meeting underscored the mutual commitment to constitutional reforms, election management, and enhancements within the justice sector. Both officials emphasized the historical ties between Sierra Leone and The Gambia, reflecting a shared dedication to advancing democratic principles and strengthening legal frameworks.
Attorney General Bah highlighted the importance of the discussions, stating, “This meeting provided an invaluable opportunity to share insights on legal and judicial reforms, as well as strategies for effective election management. There is much to learn from each other, and we are committed to fostering this longstanding relationship.”
The dialogue opened avenues for potential collaborative initiatives, including capacity-building programs for legal professionals and joint efforts to uphold the rule of law.
