A high-level delegation from Sierra Leone, led by Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, is set to visit the United Kingdom next week to explore strategic investment opportunities across key sectors.
“I will be leading a team of public and private sector partners to the UK next week,” announced Chief Minister Sengeh. “During our visit, we will host a Sierra Leone Investment Forum, where several deals are poised for signing, engage with the British International Investment (BII), which has earmarked an additional $100 million for our private sector, and participate in the Africa Financial Services Investment Conference (AFSIC).”
The Sierra Leone Investment Forum will coincide with the AFSIC, aiming to attract capital into agriculture, infrastructure—including energy—and digital and financial services. The initiative seeks to unite public and private sectors to facilitate investment, with several contracts expected to be finalized during the event.
The National Investment Board will play a crucial role as a coordinating body among the government, investors, and private sector stakeholders. The delegation’s agenda includes meetings with BII, which has committed to enhancing its investment in Sierra Leone’s private sector with the substantial $100 million fund.
Chief Minister Sengeh emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating that the delegation will also engage with the UK High Commission in Sierra Leone, Sierra Leone’s High Commission in the UK, BII representatives, and members of the diaspora.
