By Joseph Momoh, Reporter, D.S.

In a strategic move to enhance agricultural output, the Government of Sierra Leone is considering a partnership with Enterprise Fertilizer Factory, a leading Turkish company renowned for its fertilizer distribution across multiple regions, including North Africa and Europe.

This initiative follows a productive meeting between H.E. Martha Kanagbo, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to The Gambia, and Fevzi Orak, CEO of Enterprise Fertilizer Factory. Mr. Orak, a seasoned chemical engineer, expressed his eagerness to collaborate with the Sierra Leonean government to supply high-quality fertilizers that could transform the nation’s agricultural landscape.

Orak has indicated his willingness to visit Freetown for direct discussions with Sierra Leone’s Minister of Agriculture and other key stakeholders, highlighting his belief that such a collaboration could yield significant benefits for the country’s agricultural sector.

Ambassador Kanagbo underscored the critical importance of enhancing agricultural productivity as a national priority. She emphasized that fertilizers are essential for achieving food security, making this potential partnership a timely intervention to address the challenges currently faced in the agricultural domain.

The government is encouraged to capitalize on this opportunity as part of its ongoing commitment to food security and sustainable development.
