The Family and Probate Division of the High Court of Sierra Leone has mandated a DNA test to determine the biological paternity of a minor involved in a contentious dispute between Mr. Mohamed Alhaji Momoh-Jah and Ms. Edwina Hawa Jamiru.

In an official ruling detailed in an eight-page document, the court directed that the DNA test be conducted under stringent legal supervision to ensure both transparency and accuracy in establishing the child’s biological parentage.

This civil action, filed under Miscellaneous Application No. 233/25, aims to resolve conflicting claims regarding the child’s paternity, which has generated significant disagreement between the parties involved. The court’s ruling reflects its commitment to justice and the protection of the rights of both the minor and the concerned individuals.

Legal analysts consider this development a pivotal move towards resolving family disputes through scientific evidence, aligning with modern judicial practices in family law. The results of the DNA test are anticipated to play a crucial role in the court’s final decision on the matter.

Sources close to the case report that both parties have been notified of the court’s order and are expected to comply within the stipulated timeframe.
